Mermelicias de Gredos and the Story of Juliane

My name is Juliane, I was born in Germany, but I have lived more than half of my life
in Spain and more than 20 years in this beautiful area of the Tiétar Valley.
This is where I bought a plot of land with my partner, and that's
where the idea arose to make jams and creams with all the abundance of
fruit we had year after year.
I started making them for friends and family
and it expanded to more and more production until in 2019 I founded
my company Mermelicias de Gredos.
Mermelicias is a strictly artisan company, my principles are: use
of local, seasonal, clean, healthy, and, of course, delicious raw materials.
- Local means: I use fruit from the Tiétar Valley and La Vera, from farms of
friends and acquaintances who do not treat their trees and shrubs - Seasonal, that is: when the fruit is ripe, I make the
jams, once they run out there will be none until the next season - Clean: clean is synonymous with organic even without the label. The fruit
has not been in contact with poison, only with the sun and water of
Nature itself - Healthy: a jam needs sugar, but I exclusively use organic whole cane sugar, and
in a much lower percentage than industrially made jam (between 20-30% of the
fruit) - Delicious: I'll leave it to you to try, let yourself be carried away by the different
flavors, original mixtures, and the artisan taste of the fruit, picked on
the same day it is made.
