Grandpa Pipo

Abuelo Pipo was born from a real story, one of those that aren't planned but demand to be told.

José María Iváñez was my father. A curious, honest man, with a subtle sense of humor and an overflowing passion for two things: eating well and getting to know Spain through its gastronomy. He didn't just travel to see places, he traveled to sit at the table. He knew what dish to order in each city, what hidden bar was worth it, and what local product to take home "because they make it here like nowhere else."

At home, there was always conversation, laughter, and good food. And also his youngest granddaughter, Virginia, who started calling him Abuelo Pipo. Just like that. Because he was her grandfather and my dog is named Pipo, and so it stuck forever, Abuelo Pipo...

My father passed away on April 26, 2025, and with him went a beautiful way of looking at life. This store is born as a tribute to all he was and all he taught us: to value what is authentic, well-made, local, and honest.

Abuelo Pipo is a store for local gourmet products, natural cosmetics, local crafts, drinks to go, and souvenirs with the soul of Gredos and Arenas de San Pedro. But, above all, it's a place conceived with calm, affection, and respect for what is ours.

Our mission is to support local producers and offer products with a story. Our vision is to be a small haven where you always feel like coming in. And our values are clear: honesty, quality, proximity, and love for the land.
